В началото на ХХI век сепаратизмът стана не само модерна дума в Европа, но и едно от най-прогресиращите обществено-политически явления в живота на Стария континент. Всички анализатори на това явление са единодушни, че европейският сепаратизъм бавно, но все по-мощно ще настъпва в Европа през този век. Някои от тях правят предвиждания за това колко нови независими държави ще се появят в Европа – стига се до десет нови държави. Тези прогнози показват какви са тенденциите в Европа. По-тревожни са обаче твърденията, че ако духът на сепаратизма бъде изпуснат от бутилката, вероятно ще избухне континентална война в Европа в скоро време. Фактите говорят за действително разширяване на сепаратистките тежнения в Европа и има известно основание да се твърди, че ХХI век ще бъде век на сепаратизма. Затова и сепаратизмът се наблюдава така внимателно от политици, от анализатори, от обикновените хора. За да бъде подчинен на идеята за просперитета на Европа, на една мирна Европа – майка на днешния цивилизационен свят.

At the beginning of the 21st century, separatist became not only a modern word in Europe but also one of the most increasing socio-political phenomena in the life of the Old Continent. All analysts of this phenomenon are unanimous that European separatism will slowly but increasingly become Europe in this century. Some of them make predictions about how many new independent states will emerge in Europe – up to ten new countries. These forecasts show what are the trends in Europe. More alarming, however, is that if the spirit of separatism is dropped out of the bottle, there will probably be a continental war in Europe soon. The facts speak of the actual expansion of separatism in Europe and there is some reason to assert that the 21st century will be a century of separatism. That is why separatism is observed so carefully by politicians, analysts, and ordinary people. To be subordinate to the idea of the prosperity of Europe, to a peaceful Europe, mother of today's civilization world.
